The oil price spike has led to fears that we face a downturn in an economy that has shown signs of recovery based on recent data. Revenues for corporations are up, the unemployment rate is down, and there is an increase in consumer confidence. The impediment to our overcoming this gas crisis rests with the Obama Administration. This President refuses to acknowledge that oil will be with us for the foreseeable future. He relies on biodiesel, wind and solar power, along with nuclear power. How long will it be before we have those energy resources in place? Many scientists believe that we can never replace our oil as a resource with these options. We need offshore drilling, opening up of ANWR and the pipeline from Alberta’s oil sands to Houston. This will lead to self-sufficiency far sooner than the delusional belief of Barack Obama that we can use these alternative resources as our sole source of energy. In addition, how many jobs have been lost due to this inane policy of the Obama Administration?
